Law Firm Interview
Supporting Domestic Violence Survivors
In this interview, I explore how current legal frameworks support survivors of domestic violence. The conversation highlights a critical paradox: rigid formal procedures and high conviction standards can inadvertently become secondary barriers for victims. This discussion reinforced my belief that the law is only effective when it actively protects vulnerable individuals and ensures their voices are heard.
Domestic Care Worker Interview
Agency and Employment
This video explores the complex realities of domestic care workers navigating the balance between income stability and familial obligations. I reflect on the realization that "flexible" labor arrangements often serve as a structural trap rather than a genuine choice for those burdened by unavoidable care duties. This insight challenged my perspective on employment structures and sparked a deeper inquiry into how the law defines and protects workers' agency.
Food Vendor Interviews
Livelihoods of Two Small Traders
This video analyzes interviews with two small-scale food vendors to reveal the unequal risks of urban displacement on micro-entrepreneurs. Contrasting a vulnerable migrant vendor with a secure local operator, I critique policy frameworks that prioritize property owners and ignore institutional barriers like the hukou system. Ultimately, I advocate for differentiated legal governance and equitable resettlement policies beyond mere material compensation.
